Gypsy

Regarded by many to be the most perfectly written musical in the canon, Gypsy tells the fact- based story of the most ferocious stage mother of all time, relentlessly pushing a troupe of marginally talented vaudeville children across the country during the 1920s and 1930s. Featuring a central role (Rose) which is the most demanding and most rewarding ever written for a leading female, Gypsy also includes meaty supporting roles (Louise and Herbie) and a variety of strong opportunities for singing-dancing children and young adults. The score by Jule Styne and Stephen Sondheim includes “Everything’s Coming Up Roses,” “All I Need is the Girl,” “Let Me Entertain You,” and “Together Wherever We Go.”
